Baker Hughes, a leading energy technology company, has clinched a significant contract with Venture Global LNG for their Plaquemines LNG project in Louisiana, USA.

The deal, announced on 30 January 2025, encompasses the supply of a modularised LNG system and power island, along with a multi-year services agreement for maintenance and engineering support for phases 1 and 2 of the project.

This contract further cements Baker Hughes’ position as a key LNG technology supplier to Venture Global, contributing to over 100 MTPA of production capacity.

Lorenzo Simonelli, CEO of Baker Hughes, emphasised the critical role of LNG in meeting rising energy demands, he said: “We have been a trusted partner in natural gas operations for more than 30 years, and our collaboration with Venture Global is a key example of what our industry needs more of today: businesses coming together to leverage best-in-class technologies and services that can deliver reliable and efficient natural gas operations to support sustainable energy development.”

Mike Sabel, CEO of Venture Global, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, he said: “Baker Hughes continues to be a trusted partner for Venture Global in delivering a secure, reliable energy supply to the world and we are thrilled to add another significant milestone on our partnership.”

The agreement comes on the heels of Venture Global’s recent milestone of shipping its first LNG cargo from the Plaquemines facility, marking a significant step forward in the project’s development.

This collaboration between Baker Hughes and Venture Global underscores the growing importance of LNG in the global energy landscape and highlights the industry’s commitment to developing efficient and sustainable energy solutions.
